Everything you need to know — and the reassurance that it's not too late.
Absolutely not — and I say that from personal experience. I started acting at 54 and I haven't stopped since. Some of our students are teenagers, some are in their 60s. There is no age limit at GSPA. The only thing that matters is that you want to do it. If you have that, we have everything else.
Most of our students are 50 and over — but we have wonderful people in their 40s, 30s and 20s too. The minimum age to join us is 16. Whatever your age, you'll quickly find you're among friends, and that nobody here is ever "too old" or "the only one."
Yes, absolutely. Alongside the school, we are a mentoring charity for young people, so we take safeguarding extremely seriously. We have all the policies and procedures you would expect from a registered charity, including DBS checks. Your safety — and the safety of our younger students — always comes first.
None at all. We welcome complete beginners as warmly as we welcome those who have some experience but want to go further. You don't need a drama school background, a showreel, or an agent. You just need to show up ready to learn.
GSPA was built specifically for the Gospel and Christian community — a space where your values, your faith, and your story are welcomed and celebrated. What matters most is that you respect and honour the community you are joining.
Our in-person Screen Acting Workshops and Theatre Workshops take place at The Old Diorama Arts Centre in London. Full joining instructions including the address and transport links are sent to you after booking.
Yes — our Taster Course is completely online and self-paced. You do it from the comfort of your own home, in your own time. Our Screen and Theatre Workshops are in-person. Fast Track includes a mix of both.
Yes! Our Taster Course is completely online, so we warmly welcome international students. Wherever you are in the world, you can take your very first step with us from the comfort of your own home.
The Taster Course is your very first step — designed to give you a genuine experience of what acting training at GSPA feels like, from your own home. It costs just £27 and you can start today. No pressure, no commitment, and no experience needed.
Each Screen Acting Workshop runs for 3 hours. They take place once a month and are led by a professional screen acting coach who works with TV and Film actors. All levels welcome — complete beginners included.
Our Theatre Workshops run for 3 hours, once a month, and are led by an industry professional with extensive theatre experience. Each session is hands-on, practical, and designed to build your confidence and technique on stage. Full details including date, time, and location are sent to you after booking.
A single workshop — Screen or Theatre — is £99. Here's the lovely part: once you've attended your first workshop you become a returning student, and you'll receive a discount code that brings every future workshop down to just £49.99. Joining the GSPA community is completely free, so it really does pay to keep coming back.
We keep our drop-in workshops small and personal — no more than 20 people in a class. That means you're never just a face in the crowd; there's real space for you to be seen, supported, and properly coached.
Keep an eye on our website and our socials — that's where we announce each new workshop and open up booking. Spaces are limited, so do book as soon as a workshop is released to avoid disappointment.
It depends which programme you're on. With our drop-in workshops, missing a session is no problem at all — you simply catch the next one. With Fast Track, we're not currently able to offer catch-ups, as by then we'll have moved on to the next subject — so for Fast Track, do try to keep your sessions safely in the diary.
Yes. The Old Diorama Arts Centre is in central London and very easy to get to, with excellent transport links. It also has a lift for step-free, disabled access.
Fast Track is our flagship year-long programme — and it is genuinely the best value we offer. For £59.99 a month you get monthly mentorship with me personally, both screen and theatre workshops across the year — you'll do a block of one and then the other, rather than both at the same time — 10 assignments with dedicated feedback, an end of year showcase, awards, first dibs on auditions for our productions, help with your acting CV, headshot guidance, and a community of people who grow with you every step of the way. Our next cohort starts in September — we are taking names now.
Every first Monday of the month I get on a call with our Fast Track students and we talk about all things industry — questions, challenges, wins, opportunities. No topic is off limits. It is one of my favourite parts of what we do.
As a Fast Track student you receive 10 assignments across the year. You upload your work and it gets reviewed together as a group — and honestly, this is one of the most joyous parts of the whole programme. Watching each other's work, seeing the growth from one assignment to the next, cheering each other on — it is so much fun. Your dedicated assignment tutor gives individual feedback and nominates a Man of the Match. It is warm, encouraging, and it will make you better every single time.
Yes. We write and produce our own theatre productions — including musical theatre — as well as TV shows and films, and our Fast Track students get first access to auditions. You are a working actor even while you are still training.
We help you with everything you need to become agent-ready — including your acting CV and headshots. We don't leave you to figure it out alone. And because we write and produce our own content, in many ways we become your agent. We put you in productions, build your credits, and give you everything you need to go out and get official representation when you're ready. The rest is up to you — but we set you up to succeed.
We don't currently offer Equity card eligibility — but here's what we can tell you. Some of our students already have IMDb credits. A verified IMDb credit means you are a working actor. That is real, tangible, industry-recognised proof that you have done the work.
Not at the moment — but it's something we genuinely care about. We are currently working with an established institution so that we can offer a recognised certificate of completion in the future. Watch this space!
If you're booking a workshop, simply click the link and you'll be taken straight through to a one-off payment — quick and easy. If you're joining Fast Track, you'll set up a direct debit for your monthly payments. Everything is handled securely online.
You can cancel at any time — we never want you to feel trapped. However, please note that we don't offer refunds on payments already made. We do ask that you give it a real chance though, because in our experience the breakthroughs often come just when people think nothing is happening!
Yes! Your first workshop is £99. Once you've attended it you become a returning student, and you're entitled to a discount code that brings every future workshop down to just £49.99 — roughly half price. The code is shared exclusively in the GSPA WhatsApp group, which you'll be invited to join after your first session.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing and trainers — something you can move freely in. You'll also need the official GSPA student t-shirt: the black student t-shirt is compulsory for all students and must be worn to every workshop and Fast Track class. You can pick yours up in our merch shop.
Bring something to write with and something to drink — there's a lot of valuable information shared in every session that you'll want to capture, and you'll want to stay refreshed. We'd love you to grab a GSPA notebook and a GSPA water bottle from our merch shop so you've got everything to hand and looking the part. And don't forget — the black GSPA student t-shirt is compulsory for all students, so be sure to wear yours. Other than that, just bring yourself and an open mind.
Good — that means you care. Everybody is nervous every single time they do something new. We have never had a session where someone wasn't nervous walking in. But here's what we know — the nerves don't go away by waiting. They go away by doing. Feel the fear and do it anyway. We will be right there with you.
Not exclusively — but everything we do is family appropriate. Some of our material touches on faith themes and some don't. What you will always find at GSPA is a safe, respectful, values-driven environment where nothing inappropriate is ever asked of you.
Yes — and it's one of the things our students love most about GSPA. We pray and worship together before we begin each session. During our industry chats, if we know someone is going through a difficult time, we pray for them too. We believe in the whole person — not just the performer.
We'd love to hear from you. Just email us at admin@thegspa.org and we'll be glad to help. Remember, we hold your hand every step of the way — and that starts before you've even signed up.
